no not at all, I really do not think that Sharon is a butcher in any sense of the word. the whole concept of Sharon as a butcher emerged in the last few years along with the spate of anti israeli propaganda. Before then nothing was said. So it appears that a group of people are actively trying to smear a man using media manipulation methods.
Arafat invaded Lebanon after the Pakistanis and the Jordanians killed about 5000 to 10000 palestinians in response to Arafats shelling of King Husseins palace by Arafat. The palestinians started an islamic jihad in Lebanon , murdering and massacring the chrisitian lebanese and Druze. The SLA called for israelis help to defend them selves, and it also served as a way of stopping cross border terrorist attacks on Israel. After years of butchery by the Palestinians and countless calls of murder by the mullahs, a portion of the SLA took revenge on the refugee camps that were the military bases of the PLO. The PLO and armies of god had killed over 60000 christian lebanese in the years prior.
Sharon did not order the attack or murder of the palestinians. But the media has seized on the idea that Sharon should somehow have known that the SLA would murder people and have used this to label him as a butcher. Only in the context of a media controlled by an anti israeli world could the connection between Sharon and the killings even be made.
The biggest "crime" in the area was Baraks call for the Israeli withdrawal from Southern lebanon. The SLA was wiped out by the Hizbolah and the PLO afterwards. But no one dares calling the Hizbollah to a world court. It appears to me that unless you are a middle easterm moslem, no one trumpets much about anything to the press.
Baraks withdrwal of troops was responsible for more deaths than the attack on the military installations/refugee camps by the SLA, Barak by the same logic you are using should be a war criminal.
I am constantly astounded that moslem moslem killings are ok and moslem israeli killings are ok, and moslem christian killings are ok, but if a moslem is killed by an infidel, then the press goes wild.
My belief is that it has a lot to do with the 15% of the population being moslem in Belgium, France and Germany
