ML, i generally agree, but this time anyway it apparently was the press getting it wrong(hard to believe!(g)) and the respective company's issuing denials and corrections. BTW, i wasn't as smart(?) as you and couldn't resist the un-ending ramp. currently sitting with an exceptionally large position in the semi-holders(frankly, a little more than i'm comfortable with) that i'm a bit underwater with. although my entry's weren't too bad, the size of the position doesn't leave me alot of wiggle room before i'll have to trim(tues. opening concerns me). anyway, i've noted some pretty stiff resistance not far overhead on both the holders and the index's which will probably be my cue to take my lumps if they're taken out. anyway, this week-end and the subsequent sessions that follow, should be most interesting, to say the least. In 2001 when i worked for a semi mfg that used TSMC as a fab, they once stated that business was picking up huge and they were at full capacity. after further digging you find out that they are running like 1-1.5 shifts/day instead of 3 like in boom times. its all in how you spin it.

mlsoft..yep, I agree. CEOs and CFOs of chip companies have been notorious for lies; although they mention their ever-optimistic forecasts in such a manner that no one can sue them in court for fabrication.

INTC and AMAT are amongst the worse.
