Yeah it is best to trust the filings but for a lot of the things that people have been asking for years would not have been included in filings in the first place. Many were simple questions that people wanted answered right away without having to wait for months to see filings.
I always told people to call the company instead of relying on answers from message board posters who are not close to operations because I felt that they would get better information if it came directly from the company. I also thought that by speaking with management that people would get a better read on whether the information seemed to be more credible or not. Let's face the fact that even if the company has an agenda the same can be said for posters on stock message boards.
I don't understand why others should take their time to find out who owns the licenses! If this is a matter that is of importance to the one asking the question I think that they should be the ones willing to do the research on their own.
