Hurricane Katrina Travel Policy

Updated 12:30 p.m. CDT September 2
The people of American Airlines continue to keep those affected by Hurricane Katrina’s tragic effects in their thoughts. To help those whose lives and travel plans have been disrupted, we offer the following options for customers whose flights have not been canceled.

For complete details and assistance with changing your travel plans, contact our Reservations personnel at 1-800-433-7300 or AAdvantage Reservations at 1-800-882-8880 within the United States or Canada.

If you are calling from outside the United States or Canada, please check our Worldwide Reservations Numbers page for Reservations contact information.

Refunds
If you would like to request a refund of your ticket, the following guidelines apply for tickets issued no later than August 24, 2005.

Travel to/from Ticketed Travel Dates Refund Policy
New Orleans, LA (MSY)
August 24 - September 30, 2005

* Non-refundable tickets can be refunded back to the original form of payment (must be requested through American Airlines directly).
* Refundable tickets can be refunded as normal.

Baton Rouge , LA (BTR)
Fort Walton Beach , FL (VPS)
Jackson , MS (JAN)
Mobile , AL (MOB)
New Orleans , LA (MSY)
Pensacola , FL (PNS) August 24 - October 31, 2005

* Non-refundable tickets can be refunded back in the form of a travel voucher.
* Refundable tickets can be refunded as normal.
* If your travel was booked using an AAdvantage award, you may elect to change your destination or have the AAdvantage mileage used for this trip refunded (no reinstatement fee will apply).


Reissue/Reroute Policy
If you would like to use your existing ticket for alternate travel or routing, the following guidelines apply for tickets issued no later than August 24, 2005.
