Would you like to find a compromise?

I would rather find an understanding;) For me, a compromise lacks empathy or the will to understand.

You make a distinction between lower and higher self, for me, they are the same. We make our own conflicts. The self is always looking for a way to assert itself and control its environment. As you say, the self prefers the security of the unchanging or motionless and uses it as a point of reference. We free ourselves from conflict when we are not self-serving i.e. selfless. I believe we are meant to exist through each other; like a feedback mechanism, we exchange energies in order to be.
