It sounds like the U.S. will be involved in Afghan until 2024...we'll learn more when Pres Obama speaks to the nation tonight - 7:30pm Eastern.
Hopefullly Pres Obama shoves it in the face of the GOP that under HIS leadership we got binLaden in just 2.5years, something GWB couldn't do in 7.5 years!!!

i can just hear it now, the baggers whining that obama flew into the war zone to collect hazard pay differential for the whole month by setting foot there on May 1.

But since he is a basketball fan, i cannot believe he timed his speech at the same time as the tip-off time for the Lakers playoff game.

Unless his speech is to announce we are pulling out, i am not really very interested in some deal with the sleazy Sarcoma or whatever his name is, as the pretend president of Afghan wouldn't be able to honor the agreement even if he wanted to.

If obama is taking him to the woodshed and telling him how it will be instead of damage control for some stupid cell phone pictures or something it might be a good thing. Seems like personnel issues get more attention than combat. All that tells me is that soldiers must not be worried much about their lives if they have time to create Facebook images for back home. Have they pulled back to the bases like they did in Iraq? Seems like the new mission is to protect our drone bases.
