As best I recollect, he did say something like that, yes.
For several months, 20-200 Visitors, Inquiries, AND Members
"hit" upon the MusicMatrix Website. Of course, nowhere NEAR
200 PAYING Members PER DAY ever joined MMx. Tony was playing
a little fast-and-loose with the full meaning of "Members,"
when he meant "total hits each day," I suspect...and that
became melded (in his eager hope-filled mind) with "real Members."
He truly, desperately, dearly wanted MMx to succeed and take-flight.
Tony MEANT well. He just ran out of money and wherewithal,
because even at the height of things (Howie D.), there only
were SEVERAL PAYING, NEW MEMBERS JOINING DAILY.
It would have required at least SEVERAL THOUSAND NEW PAYING
MEMBERS PER DAY to have driven its full, soaring success.
Just my opinion, conclusion, and belief. That is all.
