Newly, you're right (not about the wise part, tho =), if we get deflation we pay more, however, my goal is equity, I can't predict the future but things look bad, so I'm being conservative, and if worse comes to worst, the more I can own of my home, the better off I'll be.
My choice is to not try to predict the future, but to invest in my house - even if it's a bad investment, I have to have it, so that's the plan.
