Could very well be, I still maintain that tile damage should have shown a gradual increase in temperature and no sudden telemetry loss. It may be interesting to find out what the 32 seconds of garbled telemetry show...
Sure... that certainly will make it easy for them to avoid blame for giving the OK for reentry knowing they had damage during liftoff that they called superficial without able to see it or confirm it. It certainly is getting too hot for all the NASA managers to handle all the bad publicity they are getting.
