there are probably hundreds of stocks they 'hold' that are just IOU's at the DTC - Or worse, IOUs that are NOT backed up by the DTC.

I bet most of their book entries for retail traders are nothing more that blank entries. Self clearing is a wonderful thing for those that do it. Times they are changing. Audit time!
