Snotwhat, just back from day's fishing with Cpt. Joel. Yes, it was the south bay not far from AB. Could see the TECO stacks or St. Pete most of the day. Fishing was good not great with mostly snook & a load of trout. Only one small Red. But, in the early afternoon Cpt. Joel spotted a nice Cobia which we fed. We were fishing light with only 15# leader so it was a long fight. After 1 1/4 hours we boated a 40 pounder which we are grilling tonight.
Overall it was a good day and I definitely would use Cpt. Joel again. In fact I'm thinking tarpon in May-June. I was impressed with how the Captain spotted the Cobia, tracked it down and set the boat so we could fed it. His 10 years of guiding are certainly paying dividends.
Good to see you & the Board are tending to USSIF business---a small gain today, but nonetheless a gain.
