That's a big assumption don't you think? In the past 50 years our knowledge and understanding has changed significantly. I'm not sure physicists even hold to that belief today.
Unless you can say "god was the beginning" and not ascribe supernatural powers to the "beginning" then your assumption is just that, an assumption or something I would call "faith."
