#170180 RE: fuagf #170173

fuagf -- and talk about something that heavily advantages larger businesses over smaller ones (let alone sole proprietors) -- the big companies with large pools negotiate the best and most predictable deals, the small shops get screwed (and solo props, until Obamacare fully kicks in, they can't negotiate premiums at all and if they actually need coverage they can't get it at any price [yes, some professional organizations have their own sponsored pools for their members, but in those usually solos can only apply to get in and again if they actually need the coverage they can't get in]) -- if our good 'libertarian' 'free market' 'let all compete without constraint' types had their eyes on the ball and actually gave even the slightest little crap about reality, they be SCREAMING for some sort of comprehensive system of direct coverage (single-payer or mandate, inherently government or some private 'competition' with great 'free market' value added) of every person entirely apart from (self-)employment -- take healthcare out of the equation for all businesses, never belonged there anyway, and leave all businesses even on that level -- turn the little guys loose, unshackle them from this ridiculous market-distorting built-in competitive disadvantage relative to the big guys -- and if not government single-payer, then the ACA must-issue requirement, that insurers must accept all applicants for coverage, does go into effect on schedule, that stays, that's not negotiable

then toss in one other thing, one rule this specific health insurance and healthcare marketplace must have, applicable to all participants, insurers and providers alike -- leaving whether/in what ways experience dictates a need to actually regulate or cap prices and/or to enforce antitrust laws to maintain actual competition as a separate discussion, with agreement with the idea that unnecessary such is to be avoided -- one key thing going forward, effective immediately -- whatever premium or fee you charge one person for a given coverage or care, that's what you charge everybody for the same coverage or care -- no exceptions (see e.g. in particular the highlighted in http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=72075001 ) -- not one bit more of this outrageous and in truth flatly fraudulent price discrimination against the poor/uninsured (or those lacking the 'right' insurance, 'out of network' or whatever) -- not negotiable -- in this health insurance and healthcare marketplace, we don't do that -- period
