Exactly KT. The results do change the direction. The direction was to eliminate Interferon as well as go all oral. My street sense is there will be a shift to see if there is any drug out there other than Interferon that can prevent the relapse. So if they run a new trial they already know that the combination of Rib/INF works with all the other drugs and that RIB alone does not hold the gain. My guess is they already know or will know that there was activity with Bavi over and above Ribravin alone with NO ADDITIONAL SAFETY ISSUES.
So if they got the respoonse they wanted but just couldn't hold it and they are going to run a longer trial why not run an extra arm using Bavi/Ribravin or Bavi alone or both as the added drug?
