That was his parent's generation of expansion. I have to agree that he is likely one of the top 1% of CEO intellects. With regards to the last number of years of the world's economic predicament I strongly suggest these two interviews in the order in which I've listed them for some DD

In the first interview, the CEO of CitiCorp explains their mistake in an effort to compete within the global economy and how it has wreaked the havoc of today. In the second interview a clearer picture of how the Government coalesced, maybe indirectly, to reduce your parents' livelihood. In an article from his earlier adult years, Scott blames his parents (their generation) for what we have today. Unless they were part in the CitiCorp efforts or Legislative efforts, I think he was overly harsh on them.
