I would rather not let the presence or absence of an objection be the deciding factor. People will complain about any darned thing. There needs to be some principle involved, and often, a weighing of competing principles.

Symbols of worship and the practice of worshiping are 2 seperate things. I would hope no one would be forced to light a manorah or open a gift under a christmas tree (however silly that sounds lol ) nor face east to bow to ala or whatver it is that they do.
I do support the showing of all symbolizm and teaching of different religious celebrations that take place around the world. Saying these things shouldnt be in schools is what I consider absolute nonsense. I am a christian and have no problem with my kids learning a little about other religions in the world. Not to promote them, or try to insight preference of any one of them including mine. (unless we are talking private religoun bases schools)
I don't get the arguement of people saying they are offended with such things in schools. They are there to get an education, and religion is such a large part of what makes this world go around and with it probably going to be the reason it will stop going around, makes it even more needed in schools. By that I mean either God will stop it from turning, or we will in a major war over it. It seems like 90% of wars in the world have something to do with religous beleifs.
If people dont beleive in any religion, they should still want their kids to learn about them. They are major issues that will not go away. No need leaving them ignorant about them.
And quite frankly am tired of "Jesus" being a bad word in this country. No one has a problem saying God, Ala or Buddah. Whats so offensive? I mean people really need to get over that. Its ridiculous.
The other argument about In God We Trust being on currency is not a bad thing. Nor any other reference of it anywhere in government. The ten commandments etc. These are basic good things that should not offend anyone. Thsi country was based on a beleive that we are not larger than anything that ever was and that God, no matter how you define it, is a good base to build a country's moral ground from.
Seperation from church and state is not a constitutional item. The consitution says nothing of this, is was just a statement in a letter. from Jefferson I think ??? I cant remember exactly. That was his opinion and not the original founding fathers view. Which was that the government would not nationalaize any religion, nor persicute over religion. (amonsgt some other things)
Sorry.. just felt like ranting about my opinion on this :)
