Ok, I think I know where the confusion's at. When you mentioned the little Atrinsic logo with six legs at the bottom of the page, you were talking about the affiliate network site, right?
I see what you're saying about publicity, but I still don't qualify that as a public announcement. Now, I'll cede that some will probably be alerted to the Spyder through that page, but I'm thinking that would be existing clients who go to www.atrinsicaffiliatenetwork.com. However, they make no mention of it anywhere on www.atrinsic.com and, as far as I can tell, www.atrinsicaffiliatenetwork.com only contains that one link. Personally, I wouldn't call that publicity. To put my opinion in context, look how much space and content they devote to marketing their products and services. Then compare that to their "advertisement" of Spyder. They obviously know how to market themselves and others (that is their business, after all) so a small graphic that is clearly not the center of focus on their affiliate site doesn't seem to be much of an announcement to me. If you do a google search for "atrinsic spyder," the first page shows ihub and other investing forum mentions and a couple of whois links. They also probably wouldn't make it so difficult to find. As it is now, if you don't know about the spyder at all, you have to go to their affiliate network site and click the link on the bottom of the page.
In short, I can't agree that they're publicizing Spyder. I think we can all agree that they haven't publicly announced it via any sort of news.
