I would have some issue with this being humanities basic problem. I believe our basic problem is that we are animals and our intelligence has evolved much faster than our basic instincts. We are not in the survival of the fittest mode yet we continue to act like it.

Jar, I am not sure that I agreed to anything. At the moment one definite question I have is why you said "between humanity and God." Why not use the descriptive word that is used most in the Bible? Simply, man.
Which brings up one serious problem that I have with the Bible. That is in the way that women are treated. Truly is the Bible the literal word of God or the chauvinist scribes who put it to text?
