#3789 RE: deadbeat45 #3785

deadbeat,

The Nazarene Sect, ie Messianiac Jews have existed continuously since the time of Christ. They emulate Jesus by emulating his life and teachings. Jesus was a Rabbi, some believe he was Massiah. Jesus was a Torah observant (Orthodox, Nazarene Jew). Is there anything in the NT that would indicate Jesus wished his followers to abandon Hebrew tradition and start a new religion, ie Christianity?

You would seem to disagree with their position that the text of the NT has been altered thru the course of history. They believe that much of the modern day versions have been altered by Christians in a effort to "Christianize" the faith. You seem to disagree. What is the basis for your disagreement? If the prespective of Hebrew believers is incorrect, why are there so many version of the Christian Bible in existance today? Wouldn't one surfice?

What would cause you to believe the text of the NT has NOT been altered thru history? The integrity of the word is central to those who's faith is based on the literal Word.
