Beamer,

Don't investors care about EPS any more?

Sometimes.

As for this "big picture" stuff, I'm waiting for the day when other investors look at the "big picture" and see INTC as a value stock, even at $27. It won't be through dividends if the proposal on taxes becomes reality.

Cause let's face it, INTC is not going to be valued like Facebook will. And Facebook won't be paying a dime in dividends for quite a while. AAPL doesn't pay any dividends, either, yet their stock price is through the roof.

Neither Facebook nor AAPL investors will be complaining about taxes, of course. Those gains will be taxed either at ordinary income rates or long-term cap gains rate depending on how long they are held.

Anyone going to complain that these guys aren't paying their "fair share"? Of course not. Instead, we'll go after guys investing in INTC. Cause you know, Buffett said he wished he paid more in taxes.

Which of course is one of the most DISINGENUOUS statements I've heard in a long time.

Dividends should not be taxed as regular income because dividends are paid out of already taxed corporate income. If there was a 0% corporate tax then dividends should be taxed as regular income
