That was an interesting day.
It hit home for both of us how formal the process is. Actually seeing the hearing gave me a lot of insight on the people involved. I was really impressed with the guy from the EPA,( the Fed side); not biased and didn't have anything bad to say.
Being able to see the power point during the testimony was a definite plus - I think a lot of the ill will people felt about how Guyer and Rice handled themselves during the hearing came from not being able to see the pages and pages of proof the boys laid out. Even on Wally's side of things, having Google Earth open and mousing over what he was talking about added a lot of clarity that the guys just listening weren't privy to. Then there were the sidebar discussions where the State would run back to the back row and have a quick huddle - priceless! A real dog and pony show.
We were both surprised when we found out the thing was on live feed, (Guyer too). When I got back to the motel and read what people were posting - they seemed to be upset for the wrong reasons. This was mostly because they couldn't see what was happening. I can understand that.
Next trip out I think I'll do a layover in Denver - we can fly down to see the mill, has to be cheaper than driving your van. Fergy has a four-trax we might use to shuffle you and MT around on, lol.
Speaking of that - the wife and I are trying to plan something next month - maybe fly down to Arizona to borrow the in-laws Harley to make a Vegas run. You and MT want to hit the tables?
