I am assuming you have a smart meter and putting electric back into the grid...Those batteries are expensive, and have a 5-8 year life...

What brand of eqp did you go with???

my latest bill was $73, without solar... not bad

i don't use the central A/C system at all in winter, use nat gas space heaters,, but it's been a pretty mild winter so far

i do have a tankless hot water heater and foam insulation in all outside walls and attic, so that helps

I have to agree with you, those solar panels really do the job!
