If they restrict the miners capacity to raise capital through the sale of shares at true market value, they can force the miners to deal with the banks for funding on their (the banks) terms.

That can take the form of horrific interest rates, forward selling of future production at ridiculously low hedged prices, or under other terms so onerous that they cannot be repaid, leading to a default at which point the bank/fund/private equity, owns the mine outright, lock stock and barrel.

You answered half of your question at the end of the paragraph...Market Maker, ah yes these are the entities that quite simply have more power than god when it comes to the markets.....big money crooks can very easily play side by side with the MMs in order to control the market price of any stock because evey sale or buy must go through a MM.....in the case of BRD, if you have been watching you have seen that every day opens somewhat higher than the previous days close, the big money crooks have set the opening and are selling at this time,in short order you will see a dramatic drop in the ask, that comes with a 99 at the end ie. 1.0599...now why not ask 1.06...well 1.0599has shock value and the not to experienced trader fears the share price is dropping and its time to sell....this is when the big money crooks are buying shares to hit the open the next day at 1.11 and the cycle goes on.....now I am not saying the MMs are all playing in this game, however it does require a certain amount of help from the MMs and big money does talk very loud in the markets...does anyone really believe the big money crooks are smart enough to make money on every stock they enter....at the end of the day it is easy to see that the MMs quite simply have to much power and big money is very close behind them....happy trading to all the little honest folks.....thats very briefly the way I see it...
