Dylan wrote "Knockin...."
for the film Pat Garrett And Billy The Kid. He had a role in the movie, as well.

Guns N' Roses covered it on their 1991 album Use Your Illusion II. Personally, I loved their recording of it a lot.

In his own macabre way, Warren Zevon recorded the tune for his 2003 album The Wind. Zevon was dying of lung cancer when he recording it, and died shortly after the album was released. BTW, that recording has some stirring performances by Zevon and many illustrious guests.

Thanks OD, and thank you for the recorder info. That's actually a great idea. I appreciate it!

Yeah, both those kids are good. They play together a lot, both started at 9. His friend, like many kids that age are more into being fast, however, and think that fast is better. My son in the last year has realized that fast is not always better, and has started putting together some really nice combos and bends, sustains, pauses, etc, really working the length of the neck and changing scales in the middle of a lead. Every now and then, he gets caught up in the competitive part of it, and shows off a little. But he really "feels" the song now, and his instructor says he's never seen a kid at that age explore the artistry of the phrasing the way he does, whatever that means, lol. He also plays some classical acoustic and is learning jazz guitar now.

His instructor has put together a band of his best students with a professional drummer, sessions guy here in LA, and they are starting to practice every Fri night and have a gig booked at a club in Hwood in Dec. THAT ONE we will have a nice stereo recording of, LOL.

Thanks for your help, and ROCK ON!
