b2l, I especially liked this

As a result, AMD’s revenue share increased from 8.9% in Q1 to 15.7% in Q2. (wrt. x86 server MPU revenue share)

It seems that no one has Turion on the map as a factor so far. Instead, INTEL is expected to gain even more market share in mobiles. They already have 95% revenue share. Turion volumes at this point don´t seem to be much to write home about.

Mercury shows the expected loss in unit market share for AMD.

nice post, so Opteron revenue share went from 8.9 to 15.7% !
Intel sure have the mobile mpu market sown up with 95% of revenue, no wonder it is a major part of AMD's complaint.

Chipsets for Athlon 64
increased sharply from 4.7 million units in Q1 to 7.1
million units in Q2, while chipsets for Athlon XP declined
from 5.1 million units in Q1 to 2.7 million units in Q2.

->> Total Chipset units (AMD)
Q1: 9.8 million
Q2: 9.8 million
How comes units are so high? (AMD CPU sales guess 8-8.5 mio)

VIA lost 180bp in unit share to 12.5%,
as its share gain in the Intel platform was unable to offset
its share loss in the AMD platform.
->> So much for their strategy "focus on the intel platform"...

burn2learn,

Was linked to your post from another site and appreciate your efforts in finding and posting the Merrill Lynch report and wonder if you have access to similar reports from previous quarters?

Have posted a chart at the Motley Fool for Q1 and Q2 based primarily on the ML data that you may find interesting. http://boards.fool.com/Message.asp?mid=22869551
If you have trouble accessing the Fool you can E-Mail me Errol_Nielsen@msn.com for a spreadsheet file of the numbers. It's a QuatroPro8 file but should convert to Excel if that's what you have.

If others have put numbers together I would be interested in seeing them and how they correlate with mine.
