With the IGT acquisition of Double Down and the announcement by Zynga today it is becoming obvious that social media networks are going to have a major say in how legal state internet gaming plays out.
Thia is a very dynamic situation, but as of right now, here is the logical combination of resources:
1. An existing network with a large or rapidly growing membership list.
2. The technical knowledge to set up, integrate and deploy internet gaming on a state level.
3. Gaming Licenses - I feel certain that most states will LIMIT the total number of licenses available for internet gaming. Companies that already have a gaming license will have a much easier time expanding that license to include internet gaming than any company that was applying for a license only for internet gaming.
