goodluck, And we have no idea if the Iraq offensive will do anything to curb the Islams theo-political threat.... Striking Iraq does not attack the problem at it's root.
Bush Sr. was a hero during and immediately following Desert Storm. I think young George misjudged the the public's response to Desert Storm II, the Sequel..... "Remember the Magic!"??..
The proposal of such an aggressive strike, dropping hundreds of bombs a day - absent concrete proof - and before the weapon's inspectors have finished, must look like brute savagery to many around the world. How many innocent people will be murdered in this offensive? Osama and the radicals will certainly brand it a "Crusade". Since global support for the initiave is poor, Osama could find quite a receptive audience for the Crusader rhetoric - oil, imperialism, western dominance, control, etc.....
But then we are Americans and we always do the right thing. Right??... Does anyone really believe that the US has a snowball's chance in "hades" of instituting it's own brand of democracy in a predominantly Moslem country?...
