Missy. Great selection.
Thanks for reminding us.
May I make a comment? When singing that song, never forget the following lines:
As He died to make men holy, let us live to make men free;
While God is marching on.
If there is one thing that has become crystal clear in my mind now that I am getting older:
We can only be free if we allow others to be free. And more than that. If we dis somebody for something, are we not really trying to use our moral suasion to control that person?? I ask that question because of the freedom thing.
I LOVE freedom. When Mel Gibson played William Wallace in Braveheart, and William Wallace cried "FREEDOM", he was resounding my motto.
I cannot but accept it as any less than the greatest blessing afforded man, that God hath granted us free will... And like William Wallace, it is still in our power to both live and die bravely, in a state of freedom... Any else would be a slap in the face for what God has given us "freely" and without preset conditions... I would rather die in jail, a free man, than live on the outside a servant of those who would take our freedoms away from us.
Final words about the recent "tragedy" played out at another little theater group... And, if this seems out of character for old ss, then so be it. I calls em as I see em. (AND I TONED THIS WAY DOWN)
I win. You lose. Hold your head high... Isn't there a song with that admonistion???
