Great news!
It is good to hear that Dragonite is in settlement discussions with the various ecig companies to end this patent infringement lawsuit cleanly with agreements benefitting all parties.
This illustrates the power of patents, folks. It can be used as a fundamental driver to make change in the business landscape by way of threat. The threat by Dragonite was the pending litigation which could have gone bad for these companies and the companies produced a head-fake standing their ground and threatening to take it to a jury trial which could have gone bad for the 410 patent. So, eventually cooler heads prevailed it seems and now there are settlement talks going on; that is good.
I always thought that the most likely outcome would be a settlement. A fair settlement is the least risky and best outcome for all parties involved.
This is very good for Dragonite. Let us hope their team of lawyers really use the leverage that they have created with the lawsuit threat in order to push an agreement which gives Dragonite the best possible situation; royalties. $$$
Wow, now maybe Dragonite can begin FINALLY having a steady stream of income flowing in! BLEC is a pro business already at selling ecigs, so let them do it and DGTLF will just sit back collecting royalties off the patent. I do not think Dragonite managmenet should settle for a one-time payout. They need to demand some normalized portion of the annual/quarterly profits (some small percentage). As Blu cig grows, and they will, Dragonite will grow.
This is the best possible outcome!
