3M’s strong healthcare business is underappreciated by investors, IMO. However, it comprises only 15-20% of 3M’s overall sales, so even I would not characterize 3M as a biotech company :- )
3M announced today that it has acquired CodeRyte Inc., an industry leader in clinical natural language processing (NLP) technology and computer-assisted coding solutions for healthcare outpatient providers. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Although it’s better known for Post-It! notes and Scotch tape, 3M has a thriving healthcare business that comprises almost 20% of corporate sales.
