my kids and grandkid are all traveling here today... turkey in the oven, i am totally excited to have the house full again, if only for a few days. Got down to 3 degrees last night, and they are coming from where it is warm... we will all be in the parlor inhaling the warm body-penetrating heat from the wood stove opening gifts later... i SO love seeing my whole gene pool happy and smiling!
Then splitting some wood with my son-in-laws tomorrow, as they pretend to tough out the cold in their new wool shirts and try to act as though swinging an axe is all in a day's work for them... no snow in the yard this year, first time in many years.
