dpstark-- Like you I have owned BRK for a long time. I have added to core holdings when 'swings' do not pop in the timeframe hoped for. After 9-11 I had S/Ls going off on very old shares of big companys like IBM, MSFT, GE, & etc. Alone, I put a smile on Uncle Sams face with LT cap gains. The only concern at that time about BRK was how much more can I BUY. I was able to load up on Bs from 2002 - 2035. Most of that was sold from 2525 - 2570, but some was held in the core. The only place we disagree is you lean toward "IF" something should happen to Warren and I lean toward "WHEN" it does. For that reason there is always some cash available. Some will think it is devistating instead of the ST setback it is. Heaven forbid, but if something should happen to him & Charlie at the same time,,,,,,,,,, Hell,,,, I could never have enough cash to buy enough on such a drop. Granted,,,,,, Warren is a legend,,,,, but I certainly would expect much better than GE & IBM saw when their legends departed. BRK is an anchor in many portfolios and must will never be frightened enough to have it pulled from their hands.
