7.1 had a bug that didn't play nice with poor little AMD. Intel is no longer supporting that version of the compiler and moving to 8. 8 doesn't optimize to the level this individual expects. SOOOO??? Welcome to the Droid Matrix: CONSPIRACY LOL

I think there are stability issues are involved since it is not particularly easy to identify which AMD chips are involved(sse 3 for example is NOT available on most AMD64 chips to date).
