Ordinarily, I wouldn’t ascribe much significance to an FDA decision to grant priority review, but this could be an exception. Why? Because the FDA gave the Xarelto NDA in the exact same indication a standard review (#msg-64878521). At the very least, the FDA’s granting a priority review for Eliquis means that the FDA reviewers think Eliquis has something to offer in this indication beyond what Pradaxa and Xarelto can. The data for Eliquis in warfarin-intolerant patients provides such a justification, IMO.
