Navicom's so-called new products, that all other competitors now (and have for some time) sell, will use either GSM (likely for system for Navicom) or CDMA, which are the wireless systems that all other GPS companies are using. Up to now, Navicom's product has used the Aeris analog network. This network works fine for and occasional locate, but it is only capable of sending a very small data package, like that used in a vehicle location determination, and cannot provide more detailed information required by nearly all other commercial applications. In other words, it is not economically feasible for commercial use.
