Mike I certainly don't think it is an impossible mission, if so then why undertake it. Maybe the war with Iraq is a mission that should not be undertaken. Maybe if the President looks at our complicity in the events that kept Saddam in power and contributed to his WMD then other alternatives could be taken. War in all it glory is a failure of leadership and should be the last resort. I certainly am not convinced that Saddam was a threat to the US. The past 12 years his army has been weakened and his ability to wage war on his neighbors has been diminished significantly as they don't seem threatened. At least they are not worried.

This current administration has tried to link Saddam to Al Qaeda and 9-11 and it appears every claim has been without merit or truth. If you can recall the last two major conflicts lies by our government played major parts in escalating and starting the Vietnam and Gulf War. The Gulf of Tonkin enabled Pres Johnson to expand the war and it was a lie. The Gulf War had to be sold to the US and our Senators. Remember when the little girl testified at a Senate hearing and said that she saw 300 babies being thrown out of their incubators and onto the floor and how she saw dialysis machines being ripped off patients. The equipment being sent to Baghdad. Well that was a lie and seven Senators said that was the reason they voted in favor of war. Another lie was when President Bush and Sec Cheney sad that 250,000 Iraq soldiers were amassed at the Saudi Border. Satellite photos showed that was also a lie. Five Senators stated that was the reason they voted for the war. It passed by only five votes. I'm just wondering what lie may have to be told to get the American people behind this effort.

I certainly would not follow this leader over a cliff without question. I love my country to follow him blindly.
