The markets closed out the trading session in the green today, as upbeat factory orders (due to increased airplane demand) and a positive oulook from Wal-mart (NYSE: WMT) trumped surging oil prices.
Volume was light with 1.76 billion shares trading on the NYSE and 1.40 billion on the Nasdaq. Advancers outpaced Decliners today by a margin of 21:12 on the NYSE and by a margin of 21:10 on the Nasdaq.
In individual stories, Mohawk Industries, Inc. (NYSE: MHK RT$) closed 6.14% higher after entering into a definitive agreement to acquire Unilin Holding NV for approximately $2.6 billion. On the downside, Alvarion Ltd. (Nasdaq: ALVR RT$) closed 22.51% lower after warning for Q2.
Tomorrow, traders will be watching for data on ISM Services, which is due to hit the wires at 10:00 A.M.

Jul 5, 2005 (streetinsider.com via COMTEX) --AstraZeneca (NYSE: AZN) announced the publication of results from a large-scale clinical study that examined its psychotropic medication SEROQUEL as a treatment for depressive episodes in patients with bipolar I and II disorders. In the study, published in the July issue of the "American Journal of Psychiatry," patients receiving SEROQUEL showed a statistically significant decrease in depression scores at week one and continued to decrease throughout the eight-week study. More than half of the patients receiving SEROQUEL responded and achieved remission.
