I'm fine. Thanks. At work now. Spent last night at my sister's...
Timeline:
Saturday 12:30 pm. Lost the satellite signal. No football.
Saturday 3:30 pm. Lost power... meant no heat and no water (well).
Cold, cold night spent under many, many blankets.
Sunday 8:00 am. Started digging out. Not a utility truck in sight. Chatted with neighbors. Mid week for restoration.
Called my sister and said I'd check in with her at noon. By that time the phone lines were literally down and cell service was unavailable. Packed for five days and left. Called her from the road (after pulling over). She warned me about road closures. There were far more than reported and most traffic lights were out.
Spent a lovely evening, had a delicious dinner, and slept well.
At 6:00 am today, I called my answering machine. It picked up. I left a hallelujah message.
I'll call throughout the day to make sure I'm back in business. This is going to be a short day at work. I want to drive while it is light. Too many hazards along and in the road.
Thanks for checking in.
I'd better get some work done before I disappear. :-D
P.S. This was only 3" of heavy, heavy wet snow. I may have lost my lilac bushes. They were very tall. Now the tops are cemented to the ground. Wonder if they'll "bounce" back.
