Your kidding? Here's your answer: Who cares why we went to the Balkans. Why who cares? It's of no value (the Balkans), economic, geo-political, geographic.

With this statement you make it clear that you are dumb as a rock. I am currently in a room of Eastern Europeans. Everyone here remembers that the Serbs low tech airforce sent two planes into Hungary, just before the U.S. N.A.T.O. bombing, flying over two nuclear power plants they could have easily bombed. Several people remember them going further north into the Czech Republic and doing the same thing before returning to Serbia. I recall the same thing.

No value? OH sure. Before you post to me again you might want to buy a map and learn how to read it.

>>>The oppression of one group of people, of a country, of a culture, is not cause for the US military to engage in battle.<<<

So I take it you're intensely opposed to the war in Iraq? Bush in Fort Bragg 2 days ago:

"A little over a year ago, I spoke to the nation and described our coalition's goal in Iraq. I said that America's mission in Iraq is to defeat an enemy and give strength to a friend, a free, representative government that is an ally in the war on terror and a beacon of hope in a part of the world that is desperate for reform.

We continued our efforts to help them rebuild their country. Rebuilding a country after three decades of tyranny is hard and rebuilding while at war is even harder. Our progress has been uneven but progress is being made. We are improving roads and schools and health clinics and working to improve basic services like sanitation, electricity and water. And together with our allies, we will help the new Iraqi government deliver a better life for its citizens."
