OT: Penny,

I think that the hugely sucessful continue to work because once they attain all that wealth,and buy everything in site, and travel the world, they become bored. We all struggle to grab the brass ring and when you get there it doesn't make you happy. To really enjoy life you have to have family, friends, and a purpose. Don't get me wrong, it's much better to be well off than poor, but it won't make you happy if you weren't already happy with your life in general.
