Well, "contention" is what leads to discussion typically. If everyone had the same opinion about a stock and there were no conflicting views, then the boards would simply die as everyone would say "this is a great stock", "yep, I think so to". After that what's left to be said? :)
Clearly we don't want the conflict to be about the stickies, but instead to be about the company itself. But, it's ok if people disagree with the facts or opinions expressed in the stickies. That's what gets people talking/discussing and leads to a better overall understanding for those willing to listen to both sides, imo, anyway.
