Of course they wouldn't support nation building but Bush has built a coalition of right wing christians that in my opinion are not true christians. Heck I'd like to see them justify this war from their "christian perspective" and why it was necessary.
Traditional liberals would never oppose liberating an oppressed people. Clinton's Kosovo was illegal, but moral (as much as bombing a country back to the stone age can be moral). It's become like cheerleading for the hometown sports team.

"Cheering war" in the sense of enjoying it is inconsistant with common sense, much less Christianity but there are times when war is necessary such as during WWII and Christians would have had no problem supporting the allies during that war. Based on that alone, I would disagree with your premise above.
