Wow...first time I saw that. Major failure trying to prosecute rather than prevention...Reno and her underlings should have faced criminal charges for it; instead political necrotism was preserved. Appreciate you sharing that.
You would be surprised to find that we agree on many issues, especially that the FBI and CIA ops do not always work to our best interest. They get blinded by political correctness and building criminal cases that can stand in our inept court system, and miss the goal of stopping the act.
Agreed, we all can view the same wreck, yet tell different stories due to our individual perception. It does not mean any of us are completely wrong.
I will not even try to defend that administration.
After viewing all four movies, my perception was that the investigation started as a legit lead on a group intended on blowing up an American target. Then their bosses (chair rooted political desk jockeys) sat building a court case, barked orders and never listened to the field agents. Complete tunnel vision, gambling that the FBI will be able to stop it at the last minute.
Why? It is easier to convict when a real weapon is present vs fake....but not at the lost of life...they failed!
You know those liberal bastards felt that terrorism could be stopped through prosecution. (Obama promised the same until he almost let known terrorists free due to the inept justice system. He pissed off his voting hacks by returning to military tribunals and keeping Guantanamo open)
Every administration has their failures, and Clinton's failed lib process was using our criminal justice system to prosecute rather than being proactive.
Call me an "establishment" believer if you must, but I would not generalize the history of any agency based on Janet Reno and Ol' Pres "Tail that wags the Dog" Clinton's admin...much like Obama, when the fire heats up...suddenly a major news event is pushed to the front as a distraction...I bet this tragic failure was caused by a rushed need for news to cover-up...travel agency scandal or trying to push socialized health care? Who knows...
No doubt operations fail...with humans involved, then throw in politics and things go completely wrong.
