It definitely is, but I think the potential skeletons in their financial closet are much more damaging issue.

They have been recently subpoenaed for their involvment in reinsurance activities. Could that be a reason ?

AIG and IBM also started selling all over suddenly on heavy volume, and have been selling for a while, before the news hit.

The whole market looks pretty sick. The rally where every downtick was bought for days on end, and no reality mattered, all over suddenly just choked in one move.

Its like someone pulled the proverbial plug.

Bulls must be stunned and paralyzed, they are probably still trying to figure out whats going on. And buying interest seems to have dissapeared completely. Every uptick is being ruthlessly sold, even after DOW dropped 250+ points.
