Hi Toofuzzy,
Silver is a byproduct of the mining of most metals (copper, zinc, tungsten, gold). The state which produces the most silver is Alaska, primarily as a byproduct of zinc mining. Arizona produces 60% of this countries copper, but doesn't produce 60% of our silver...The US produces 35% of the silver we use. The remaining 65% is imported primarily from Mexico, Peru, Canada, and Chile.

The fact that we get most of our silver production as byproducts of other metal mining illustrates the sad shape the silver mining industry is in here in the United States. Bottom line is, there will not be any oversupply of silver in the foreseeable future.

Yes, it's Mongolia but I'm not sure if they contain significant amount of silver.
S_P has a good point. More copper production doesn't nessesarily mean more silver supply in US.
