Yeah, the 2nd is what makes sense to me as well, and having the bop in place by around the 12th would mean they are well underway. This is a get'er done situation, the results of which we will soon know.

But remember that "spudding" refers specifically to the drill THAT WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR HITTING TD actually piercing the subterranean earth on its trip downward. It apparently does NOT refer to any other preparative drilling, eg, for the casing, etc.
