Chipguy, didn't you once say you expected Montecito at higher than 1.8GHz maximum?, or is this what you expected?
The Madison 6M was introduced with 1.3, 1.4, and 1.5 GHz
SKUs and the Madison 9M was introduced with 1.3, 1.4, 1.5,
and 1.6 GHz SKUs. I don't understand why anyone would
expect Intel not to release Montecito in a variety of SKUs
across a range of frequencies, cache sizes, and price.
So far OEMs have been working with 1.6 GHz prototypes
and that what was demonstrated in Germany.
My guess is that Montecito will be released in 1.6 GHz/6MB,
1.8 GHz/9MB, and 2.0 GHz/12MB SKUs. BTW, that is base
frequency, Foxton will boost each by up to 200 MHz on non
FP intensive code. Linpack is the hottest running code on
IPF and is not boosted.
