I really appreciate your thoughtful words and respect your opinion and let me say that I will be on the front line if our country is ever attacked. When our country declares war and we have a well defined enemy/nation state/despotic ruler who wants our demise I support hell being unleashed to protect our families.
Just so you understand where I'm coming from, it is the reckless and often psychotically paranoid, overreaching approach, "justifiable" by just uttering the words 9/11.
What happened on 9/11 is obvious but the Govt has never proved beyond a reasonable doubt who was behind it. Up until the day Osama was "killed" he was never wanted by the FBI for 9/11. He was wanted for the embassy bombings in Africa. The FBI freely admits that didn't have enough evidence to tie him to 9/11.
Then there is Iraq. A country that had absolutely nothing to do with 9/11 and we all know that story.
And now, Libya. Couple that with us guarding oil pipelines and poppy fields in Afghanistan it seems obvious Osama wasn't the only reason we are there.
Then we have the civilian deaths we have to account for even though the ones who carried out 9/11 died the day it happened. Estimates are we have killed well over 200,000 innocent people in our 10 year crusade to rid the world of people guilty of thought crimes against the United States.
Then there is the matter of the full spectrum police state here at home. Drip by drip we are losing our individual rights in the name of "protection".
I find the whole thing outrageous, unconstitutional, dangerous and immoral. I see most of this as an excuse for a select few to become filthy rich at our expense.
The odds are you will drown in your bathtub before you ever encounter a "terrorist".
