It seems to me pretty clear that even if EVERY situation whereby you got the (knowingly non public, material) information from someone else (irrespective of what their position is).. is not specifically spelled out as insider trading, it is spelled out enough that the burden of proof is on you to justify where you got it and how you determined it was tradeable. That's a position I don't want to be in.
