It's not anti-intellectualism - it's anti-elitism. Time immemorial.

Our world understands President Ahmadinejad will not curtsey from his warship in the Gulf - should he ever find his way. Our world also understands President Obama will only break away from sandcastle building, to bow from the highest spot of our receding beaches, when he's afforded another "peacekeeping" photo-op....

Isaac Asimov How People Can Save The Earth for Humans

'Will humanity destroy itself as a species? Or will humans be sane. We have to work together, as we can't fight a nuclear war. Miracles will not save us.'

"5point2 .. "There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political
and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'" - Isaac Asimov, column in Newsweek (21 January 1980)
"

'It's very difficult as there are always people who crave revenge. There are always people who would
be happy to see the world go down, as long as they can see their enemy go down 5min. earlier.'

Lol, Asimov isn't into nationalism and, of course, supports climate science. I like that. He answers a few questions at the end.
